There is a long climb up to the shoulder of Mount Doom and then a slidey downhill to the huge crater of Mordor. Then a long 2-3 hour descent to the carpark. You have to be dropped off and picked up by boat. It served as the church of the Tsars within the Kremlin. The Zambezi simply falls into a great crack in the earth. Although it was low season, it is still a mighty impressive. It is really special and I could hardly put my camera down. A World Heritage Site it is 260 km long offering wonderful diving /snorkeling opportunities. You have learn to do with 20 liters of water pp per day. We went up twice, one morning and one afternoon. The morning visit was misty and rainy. The afternoon beautiful and sunny. I set off from Knysna before breakfast and entered the place on foot. Straight away I saw a family group in some shallow water. We stopped and he picked out, far away, a cheetah on an anthill. As we approached we discovered that there were two cubs with her. They're busy and noisy flying back and forth. This was a nice pose of one on one of the lower branches.
